Dionysus/Hera
When I found out that in Nonnus, Pasithea is the daughter of Dionysus and Hera, my reaction was “How the hell did THAT happen???” So, how the hell did it happen? I’m here for reasonable answers and wacky answers, or mosaic art or whatever strikes your fancy. I just really want to know how the hell that happened!
19th Century RPF:
Mary Shelley/Lord Byron/Percy Shelley
Hey, it could have happened! For fic, the more over the top darkly romantic, the better. If you want to get erotic and/or kinky, these three seem like a good choice for that, in any position or situation of power. For art, gothic is great, whether that means Edward Gorey or lush and colorful to you. Let's get swooning!
Crossover Fandom
Dale Cooper (Twin Peaks)/Victoria Winters (Dark Shadows 1966)
They're both wide-eyed and weird-headed idealists investigating a strange town, and they both end up unstuck in time, so why not face these things together? You could do a mashup where Victoria's job takes her to Twin Peaks or Cooper investigates Collinwood, or have them bump into each other while unstuck in time, place and fictional universe. This doesn't have to be an outright fix fic for either of them, but it should still have some amount of hope- I think they'd like that! (Or an outright fix fic is fine...)
For art, you can draw on the Avon Gothic covers that inspired Dark Shadows, or the red, black and white mid-century motifs of Twin Peaks. Or both at once, if you want to get wild!
Dale Cooper (Twin Peaks) & Leslie Knope (Parks and Recreation)
Desperately fighting to save small towns from themselves! Earnest to the point of ridiculousness! Incredibly heroic nerds! I think Dale and Leslie would make great friends (and while I nominated this as friendship, if you want there to be romantic tension that’s also cool.) If she was the head of the Twin Peaks Department of Parks and Recreation, could she help Cooper? If there was a supernatural murder in Pawnee, could Cooper help Leslie? And would they bond over diner food?
Buffy Summers (Buffy the Vampire Slayer)/Bruce Wayne (DCU)
Chosen ones, trapped in narratives that don’t want them to be happy. Could they help each other be happy? Pretty much any point after Buffy left college could work (I haven’t read the comics) and anywhere along Bruce’s timeline as well. She could brighten his life and he could be the support she always needs but often doesn’t get. Comic style art would be great, or if you have another driving idea I’d love to see that!
The Muppets
Miss Piggy/Kermit the Frog/Gonzo the Great
Look, I can explain. I saw a video (https://forthegothicheroine.tumblr.com/post/703922876436365312) go around of an interview where the three were portrayed as a dysfunctional polycule, and now I can't stop thinking about it! I'm hoping for wackiness on the level of the show, maybe with some sweetness underneath. Art can do this as well, with a goofy situation or pose. I don't want porn, but canon-level jokes about such are fine.
Space Mutiny
Dave Ryder/Lea Jansen
I've seen this MST3K episode so many times I've actually come around to finding their chemistry kind of cute! This would probably be a more goofy story, with the two of them fighting back Kalgon on space golf carts or finding a way for Dave to get in his weightlifting routine in her greenhouse, but there can be some genuine romance as well. (You could even throw this in as a 'missing scene' that Mike and the bots come across, possibly to their dismay!)
Art would probably be cartoony or influenced by pulp scifi covers, but I wouldn't say no to something tender, either.
DCU
Becky Albright/Jonathan Crane
I loved Scarecrow and the one-off Mistress of Fear comic when I was a teen, and fell back into loving it all again this last year! She could accept his Mistress of Fear title, or it could progress some other way, even just via far away complicated pining. For art, pick your favorite Batman media to emulate, whether that’s a comic era, game, show or movie. What would all this look like in a Burtonesque nightmare, or the janky 1940s serials featured on Rifftrax?
Clark Kent/Lois Lane/Bruce Wayne
When I watched the crossover episode of Batman and Superman the Animated Series, I was really struck by everyone’s chemistry together. Bruce and Lois dated and genuinely seemed into each other, and of course Bruce and Clark were destined to be BFFs. Could they all make this work? I’d like to see! You can set this anywhere in the timeline, starting out or established, but I’d love to see that chemistry again! And for art, if you want to do your favorite comic style or something inspired by it, that would make me happy!
Batman 66
Ship: Batman/Catwoman
This show is a lot of fun! Even if he’s the comic straight man, this Batman really convinces me he’s a great, heroic guy, and I like that Catwoman puts him in death traps that often seem like excuses to tie him up. Could they ever retire together, or just have some more flirtation during capers? While I like Eartha Kitt slightly more than Julie Newmar, I’m not picky and you can draw or write your preference (or fic doesn’t even have to mention which one!)

This ballet makes me swoon every time! Let me see sexy captivity with Aurora and Caradoc or cute hidden romance becoming happy vampire domesticity with Aurora and Leo! Vampire worldbuilding is always encouraged, as well! Gothic art in the style of the ballet would be gorgeous, or writing that evokes such a mood!

This song has haunted me since childhood, it’s so beautiful and mysterious and vaguely Arthurian. While I don’t want explicit sexual details about how the whole “jet black mare’s body” night went down, I would love to see the strange love and fascination that binds them, whether for all time or just a night they remember forever. Art could evoke fairy tale illustrations, perhaps, or anything else that feels appropriately mythological.
