General likes: Fairy tales, gothic literature, film noir, revenge tragedies, bodice rippers, melodrama, dark comedy, heroine/villain/hero love triangles, heroine/villain dynamics, rescue romance, mythology, maledom (non and dubcon are fine), bdsm, bondage, character studies, what-if AUs, genre swapping AUs, vampires, folklore, knight and lady dynamics, epistolary fic, interactive fiction.

General DNWs: Gruesome mutilations described in detail, comeplay, ABO, scat or watersports, pushing away female characters, fetish universes, character bashing, fully mundane AUs for fantastical settings, unrequested identity headcanons, harm to cute animals

Batman/Discworld

A lot of cool things could come from merging Gotham with Ankh-Morpork, cities representing the worst but sometimes also the best of weird worlds! Some prompts: Vetinari becomes the mayor of Gotham, and Batman finds himself in Vimes’s place, trying to rebel against him but always seeming to do exactly what the man wants. Edward Nygma wakes up after a police shootout to see Vetinari, who asks if he believes in angels. Susan must use her anti-boogeyman skills against a being giving everyone nightmares of a scarecrow. Vimes and the other members of the Watch track down a killer clown, and have to get to him before the actual Fools’ Guild does.

A specific DNW for this would be major character death, though characters can be arrested with the implication of future execution.

Jupiter Ascending/Warhammer 40k

My impression on seeing Jupiter Ascending was “It’s the Warhammer 40k movie!” followed by “It’s about the unexpected heiress to a Rogue Trader dynasty fighting off her family and falling in love with a Space Wolf!” You don’t have to follow those thoughts to the letter (though I’d be happy if you did!), I just think these two space operas would fit perfectly together. You can use W40k characters if you want or simply the setup, and find out what happens when Jupiter is brought into the world. Don’t kill her or Caine off, but it would be appropriate for it to get violent!

Dracula/Buzzfeed Unsolved

The boys tackle the case of a series of mysterious deaths that culminated in that of a European count, and followed by the friends and loved ones of his solicitor! Maybe it’s labeled as supernatural, maybe it’s labeled as true crime, or maybe somewhere in between. Do they come up with an idea even vaguely close to the truth, or is every single idea completely wrong? DNW bashing of the hero characters or consensual pairings with Dracula, but feel free to speculate wildly.

Dracula (Hammer)/Frankenstein (Hammer)

I think every Hammer fan has wondered what would happen if Dracula mistook Frankenstein for Van Helsing, or a mob of angry villagers mistook Van Helsing for Frankenstein. What happens next? I ship Van Helsing/Marianne (from Brides of Dracula) as his future wife and mother of future Van Helsings; you can use this or not. Don’t kill Van Helsing (or Marianne if you use her) but Dracula and Frankenstein have died plenty of times so do whatever you want with them! Take it as seriously (or not) as you want.

Hannibal/Columbo

Hannibal feels a lot like a Columbo villain to me. Could Columbo catch him? I certainly hope so! I would prefer the fic not focus on shipping Hannibal with anyone, though of course his relationships with Will, Alanna, Bedelia and Abigail can be discussed. Don’t kill off Columbo, just make Hannibal squirm under the scrutiny of “Just one more thing…”

Black Sails/The Good Place

I have one stupid idea: what if Eleanor Shellstrop were to replace Eleanor Guthrie? How would it go if she were the one holding a pirate town together, jerking Vane around and trading insults with Ned Low? Would she get onboard with Flint and his ideas, or be firmly against them? For that matter, what would the rest of Team Cockroach be like as pirates or others living in Nassau? Crossover relationships are encouraged, whether those are friendly, romantic or antagonistic (canon ships for either canon are also fine.) Can all these dirtbags pull together, or encourage each other to be even more dirtbaggy?

Dracula/The Invitation (2022)

I adored The Invitation; probably the only thing I didn’t like was the use of the Harkers as names for throwaway minions of Dracula. Could we rectify that? How could Evie and the Dracula heroes help each other out? You could set it all in the modern day, all in the 1800s, or have some method of time travel or ghost communication reach through to Evie in her time of need. She and Jonathan could come upon each other when they’re both prisoners of Dracula, or she could find them and ask for help when they’re on their way to storm the castle. DNW consensual Dracula/Mina or Dracula/Jonathan, but Dracula (“Walter”)/Evie can have all the complicated and dubcon-y vibes from the movie! I don’t want a totally unhappy ending, but this can get dark (or not) as you see fit.

Twin Peaks/Parks and Recreation

What would the Parks and Recreation Department of Twin Peaks be like? What kind of horrible town history would Leslie repeat with a beaming smile on her face? Ron was abused by three different women with the same name- is there a Black Loge entity named TAMMY? How would everyone react to the death of Laura Palmer, surely involved with all sorts of community good works? What black comedy could arise from Cooper and Harry trying to get straight answers out of the Parks folk? If you can find a balance of darkness and light that works for your story, you’ll make me very happy! Leslie/Cooper is welcome but not obligatory.

Firefly/Star Trek The Original Series

I think that replacing the Alliance with the Federation makes both crews a little more morally ambiguous! What happens when the crew of the Enterprise and the crew of the Serenity have to come together despite (or because of) their political differences? Maybe Mal takes the place of Harry Mudd, and gets stuck on the bigger ship while carrying super shady cargo. Maybe the Enterprise lands on a cowboy planet and butts heads with Browncoats still fighting a war that the Federation considers long over. Can they cooperate on anything? Crossover ships are welcome, especially anything with Uhura or Kirk (I imagine he’d treat Inara with some amount of respect…) Don’t make either group outright bad guys, but feel free to explore the downsides to both or either.
